Viltrox has just laid out its plans for a new line of full-frame cine lenses that, well, aren’t going to be cheap.
Designed for PL-mount large format cinema cameras from the likes of ARRI, Blackmagic, and Fujifilm, Viltrox has unveiled a new LUNA 30-300mm T4.0 Cine Zoom Lens, along with a LUNA 42-400mm T5.6, which was unveiled previously.

As mentioned above, this lens is designed for your large-format, PL-mount cinema cameras. The LUNA 30-300mm T4.0 Cine Zoom Lens from Viltrox is set to offer an impressive 10x zoom range and a constant T4.0 aperture.
Plus, with an image circle of 46.5mm, this lens will be able to cover full-frame sensors as well as larger formats such as ARRI LF and RED VV. 0.8 MOD gears provide smooth operation.
The lens's 8-blade diaphragm will also be able to produce flattering bokeh and work together with its bright T4.0 aperture to create striking imagery with shallow depth of field.
Price and Availability
Now, here’s the rub. Viltrox is reporting that this LUNA 30-300mm T4.0 Cine Zoom Lens is set to retail for $100,000, which is its current price on B&H. It also appears that the LUNA 42-400mm T5.6 model could reach a retail price of $200,000, too.
Not necessarily highly affordable lenses, similar to Viltrox’s options for your mirrorless cameras. Still, this LUNA 30-300mm T4.0 Cine Zoom Lens in particular should be quite capable of the highest-end cinema work.
